Arturo is a 29-year-old male polar bear currently living in Argentina’s Mendoza Zoo. He is suffering in 40C (104F) heat in an enclosure that has just 20 inches of water for him to swim in and has as a consequence been displaying worrying behavior.
Please sign this petition or at least spread the word in order to have Arturo transferred to a zoo in Canada which has better facilities for an animal that is used to polar conditions.
sign this or die
arturo makes me want to punch the fuck out of whoever’s in charge of zoo regulations like what the fuck how do you let this shit happen
hear this: the canada zoo was ready and more than willing to take arturo but they could not, because canada needs documentation to receive foreign animals. the documentation is simply three years of veterinary records. el zoo de mendoza couldn’t provide that because it’s been more than three years since they checked this TWENTY NINE YEARS OLD POLAR BEAR WHAT THE FLYING FUCK
Winner the polar bear died in 2012 because of a heat wave that hit buenos aires during christmas, and he was expected to endure 50°C without even a flipping AC…
I’m so so so sooo sad for these animals, especially because I saw them both in person and that is just no way to live.
I don’t know if signing the petition will actually help because as I said they don’t have the vet’s papers, but at least it’ll help make more noise about zoos here.
